Origin

Why Liminal Stratum exists.

Liminal Stratum was founded on a single observation: the boundary between air and sea is the most easily targeted gap in modern unmanned defense. Targets cross it. Weapons don't. Sensors lose them there. Platforms stop there.

That gap is not an engineering accident. It is a structural hole in how defense systems have been built for decades — each platform optimized for its own domain, none of them built for the transition between them.

We are closing that hole.

What the name means

The name is the mission.

Liminal — of a threshold. The charged, in-between space where one state becomes another. Where a contact becomes a target. Where detection becomes decision.

Stratum — a layer. The connective plane that runs beneath every platform and above every sensor, binding them into one coherent system.

Together: the unseen layer at the edge of perception where everything is decided. We build there so adversaries have nowhere left to disappear.

Simulation First

No hardware gets built on an assumption. Every system is validated in simulation before it becomes a physical design decision. We earn the right to build by proving the concept first.

One System, No Handoff

The air-sea boundary is not a problem to route around. It is the operating environment. We build a single platform that crosses it natively — no second vehicle, no sensor relay, no gap in the engagement thread.

Small Team, Full Ownership

Every person on this team owns a critical slice of the mission. We do not have redundancy by headcount. We move fast because everyone here is the person.

The end user is someone executing a mission under pressure. Every design decision is made with that person in mind — not the spec sheet, not the demo, the actual use case.
